Decode a VA letter
Paste the text of your letter, or upload a PDF or photo. Every decode is free and identical for everyone.
Your letter is read once, analyzed in memory and shown only in this tab, so there is no account and nothing is stored after the tab closes.
Taking a photo of your letter? Tips for a clean read
- Lay the letter flat on a dark surface and get the whole page in the frame.
- Good, even light — avoid shadow and glare from overhead lamps.
- One page at a time. Decode each page, then the timeline stitches them together.
- iPhone photos save as HEIC by default, which we can't read yet — take a screenshot of the photo (that's a PNG) or set Camera › Formats to “Most Compatible.”
- Blurry or partial photo? Paste the text instead; pasted text is the most reliable read.
