DRAFT FOR ATTORNEY REVIEW — not yet in force

Terms of Service

Draft date: June 9, 2026

1. What ServiceRecord is

ServiceRecord is an informational tool that explains, in plain language, what VA documents you submit appear to say, with citations into those documents. By using it you agree to these terms.

2. Not legal advice; not representation; not the VA

ServiceRecord is not a law firm, is not a VA-accredited representative, agent, or attorney, and is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Nothing it produces is legal advice, a legal opinion, claim preparation, or representation, and no attorney-client or representative relationship is created. It does not prepare, present, or prosecute claims for benefits. For decisions about your claim, consult a VA-accredited representative (free via VSOs) or attorney.

3. Accuracy and its limits

The tool is built to quote your document rather than guess, and to say “not stated” where your document is silent — but automated reading can still make mistakes, and your documents may not reflect your complete file. Deadlines shown without a printed calendar date are descriptions of what your document says, not computed dates. Always verify deadlines with the VA or an accredited representative before relying on them. You use the output at your own risk.

4. The Prep Pack

The Decision Review Prep Pack is a $25 flat-fee organizational worksheet generated from your free analysis. It prepares you to work with an accredited representative; it is not the representation, is not an appeal or claim document, and is not filed with anyone. If the pack fails to generate after payment, contact us for a refund. [ATTORNEY: confirm refund policy wording and any state consumer-law requirements.]

5. Acceptable use

Submit only documents you have the right to submit. Don't use the service to harvest data, probe the system, or misrepresent its output as advice from a lawyer or accredited representative.

6. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which for most users is zero). [ATTORNEY: review enforceability, consumer-protection carve-outs, arbitration/venue decisions.]

7. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be flagged on the homepage. Questions: legal@servicerecord.example [ATTORNEY: confirm entity name, jurisdiction, and contact before launch].
